Which version of Microsoft Access to use

If you have a choice of which version of Microsoft Access to run our products under our suggestion is something OTHER THAN Microsoft Access 2007 because:

  • Microsoft Access 2007 performs slower than other versions (agonisingly slow on older computers - so keep your previous version of MS Office on these);
  • in Microsoft Access 2007 a list of open forms and reports is not displayed under the Window tab of the menubar.

Microsoft Access 2003

To avoid getting a series of Microsoft warning messages every time you start our applications under Microsoft Access 2003 you need to adjust some settings in Microsoft Access 2003 as described here.

Microsoft Access 2007

For information about running our products under MS Access 2007 (including MS Access bugs, service packs, and security warnings during installation and startup) please click here.
