Training Provider Installer
Create New Installation
Multi-User Managed Network, MS-Access 97

AUTHORISATION

The download on this page is for authorised organisations only.

A username and password is required for the download.

If you would simply like to evaluate the suitability of the program for your organisation, and have not yet received authorisation to download an evaluation copy, please Request an Evaluation. If you are approved you will be issued with a username and password which will allow you to download the installer program.

USAGE

This installer is for use on managed networks (such as Novell ZENworks) or thin client systems (such as Citrix MetaFrame).

The installer program will install a full working version of the software (together with user documentation and an online help system) as if the computer to which it is being installed (which must have a functioning copy of MS-Access 97 in place) is a single-user workstation. You can then take the appropriate steps to deploy the software via your managed network.

REGISTRATION

Training Provider will prompt the user for Registration and Authentication information each time it is started (until these have been recorded).

The Authentication information will be supplied to you via email.

INSTALLATION

Read these Guidelines

PLEASE read these guidelines BEFORE you run the installer.

Managed networks and thin client technology are outside Risk Software Pty Ltd's area of expertise so we are unable to offer detailed installation advice for these environments. (You are still welcome to discuss it with us).

The following suggestions are based on a single-user installation because it is our understanding that you can then propagate this through your managed network or thin client system.

During the course of installation you will be prompted for the folder in which the application files (interface, help, manual) will be placed. The default folder shown is the one normally used in single-user installations. You may like to select one that is more appropriate to your server configuration.

You will also be prompted for the Data Folder in which the Data File and Workgroup Security File will be placed. These are the files which should be regularly backed up. It is ESSENTIAL that you use a UNC path to specify the Data Folder because, when each user runs Training Provider, this is the path which will identify where their data is held.

The installer creates the Start Menu shortcuts that are used to launch the program and view documentation. After the installer finishes, check that the paths in these shortcuts will be valid for a remote user of Training Provider.

Note that users must have the permissions which will allow them to modify the TrgPr_IF.mde file installed in the Application Folder.

Get the Installer

Click on the following link and, when prompted, choose Save (not Open). Then, in the Save As dialog, select the folder to which you'd like to save the installer on your computer (make a note of it because you'll need to go to it in a moment) and click Save.

Download the installer

Run the Installer

To install Training Provider and configure your system:

  1. open Windows Explorer;
  2. go to the folder to which you saved the installer;
  3. double-click on the downloaded file (SetupTrgPr97.exe);
  4. follow the prompts;
  5. when the installer has finished, check that the paths in the automatically created Start Menu shortcuts will be valid for a remote user of Training Provider (and modify them as necessary);
  6. check, and modify as necessary, your folder and file security to ensure that users will have permissions which will allow them to modify the TrgPr_IF.mde file installed in the Application Folder.
